Dawn singing (Youtube Video Codec Glitch #2) This video was recorded using Debut Video Capture Software old style software. When I uploaded it the transfer from MPEG-1 to Flash Video went crazy and it was during the upload. The mouth and voice sync doesnt match. I believe this is common in youtube’s tranfer of codec video from MPEG-1 to the Youtube server.

In this video I show you how to use VLC to watch youtube video files *while they are downloading*. Normally when you try to open the files with VLC, you will have to wait until the file is downloaded before anything happens. Using this method you can play the videos as they are downloading, in full screen or whatever. The biggest feature of this method is that YOU CAN SPEED UP THE PLAYBACK. If you are watching a lot of tutorials or video lectures, then you will save tons of time. I recommend to just slowly ramp the speed up as you go when watching. Even fast talkers can usually be watched at 1.4x speed, but the slow talkers can be sped up even to 2.5x or more. Slower playback: You can also slow down the playback with the same slider in VLC. This is nice if you would are a musician that would like to figure out a part of a song and need it slowed down to get the technique or practice. Also, if you are learning a language, you can slow down the audio without affecting the pitch. Tips: You may need to change the VLC preferences. If the audio pitch gets more and more chipmunk like when sped up, then: go to Preferences, change the view to ALL (not simple), then select audio on the left. In the right pane you will see a check box for “Enable Time Stretching”, make sure it is checked. If you are watching it at a faster speed, then you may run into a problem with download speed. HTC released their own YouTube app that’s now available on HTC branded Windows Phone 7 devices. It’s got a much nicer interface than the native YouTube plug-in’s simple link to the mobile YouTube website. This version has a nice panaramic “Metro” style design with easy access to popular videos and category sorting. It also supports video resizing and even high-quality video streaming. That’s a big plus that we’ve been waiting for since the other YouTube apps only show low quality videos. To see the app in action, check out the video below. Unfortunately the app is missing things like comments, log-in, subscriptions, favorites, and video upload, but it’s still pretty nice.

Just bought my new N82, and one of its best features for me is the possibility to use Wi-Fi for high-speed web-surfing. As I checked, it even supports online video, streaming channel – right in Internet browser, not in special application… I consider the N82 to be one of the most powerful smartphoness of Nokia.
