DTV transition – what’s wrong?
I get reception through an over the air/rooftop antennae. I purchased the digital converter box and connected it to my television. I am now getting a “no service” message on my Tv monitor. It is hooked up correctly and I did the setup correctly. I have heard it’s possible that with some antenna’s it still won’t work. Any suggestions? I am about 90 100 miles away from...

What’s with these commercials about the DTV switch?
Why are there so many commercials trippin’ out about this digital television transition? I don’t know anyone who owns a 70’s TV with bunny ears. Is there a good reason why there’s so much emphasis on this transition?

what’s wrong with my tv?
lately i’ll be watching a show and all of a sudden the volume will be noticeably quieter. it’ll go back to normal after a bit, maybe at most 30 seconds. but still this is distracting and annoying. the tv is 3/4 years old, and it’s a “magnavox” or at least that’s what it says on the tv. i don’t think it’s doing this due to another person in the house changing...

I want a HD video camera to record my puppy’s life. But I have no experience whatsoever with a camcorder. This will then be my first camcorder. What’s better 10x Op. Zoom or 40X Optical zoom?
Hello I recently purchased a Sony Camcorder Model DCR-HC38 which has 40x Optical zoom and 2000x Digital zoom. I paid about $330 for it. however not a lot of accessories are compatible with it. So I was looking at Sony’s DCR-HC96 model. This has extra features, is compatible with many accessories and cost $800. But the zoom on this one is 40x optical and 120 digital. So I was wondering why that...

What’s the best DVD recorder?
Right now, I have a sony RDR-GXD455 tunerless recorder connected to a satellite box. When the time comes to look for another one, do I bother trying to look for one with a built in digital tuner or are they only making them without them now since the digital TV transition? I wouldn’t mind being able to record one channel while watching another. What’s the best recorder out there right...

What’s a good camcorder?
I am an indie film maker who is just out of the amateur stage and want a new cam ‘cuz mine is a turd with a lens. I want better sound, so I’d like something with an accessory port and a mic jack. Plus, I don’t want DV. I like the simplicity and reuse-ability of digital. Suggestions?

What’s a good, free online source for camcorder reviews from pros?
I’m in the market for a mini-dv camera (3 CCD, NTSC, external mic capability and manual audio control, 16 x optical zoom, sturdy, comfortable and intuitive ergonomic design, etc.) I’m going to spend up to $5,000 on the camera and accessories (tripod, mics, tapes, extra batteries, firewire adapters if necessary, etc), and that’s a huge amount of money to me, so I need to choose wisely. I’ve...
