Right now I have 7 tvs in my house. 2 of my tvs have HD DVR cable boxes, the rest are just plugged straight into the wall… Will I need a cable box for each tv (eg bedrooms, office, ETC..) to be able to view programming in those rooms?
I worked for a satallite cable provider that lobbied for the transition… they made it sound like each tv is going to need a box (like you do with satillite) to level the playing field… plus the DTV coupons the government handed out had their 1800 number on the back. This was so we could try and sell them our service, if they refused, they could buy the converter box….

I have never found a true answer to this question online…. digital cable needs a converter box to convert the signal so it can be displayed on a tv… the signal comes in a “zipped” or compacted format and the box is used to extract the code to make it programming on our televisions?

I’m considering the ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813131568
