Good quality video surveillance cameras for a cheap(er) price?

Im trying to install a basic security system into our home thats good quality, but from between 50- 100$…. I know I sound cheap…. but ( im just a teenager ) I just want two cameras… and a way to connect them to either my computer or a DVR…… thnks….

Does anyone have a system to suggest for a small home. What would you look to buy if night security is an issue. I understand people are buying systems that connect to a computer, but wouldn’t that require a rather expensive computer? Mainly interested in street and backyard security. Brands and price range that you feel would do the job. thanks

What do real time channels mean on a 16 ch DVR card pertaining to video surveillance cameras?

I am installing a security system with a 16 ch DVR card. I found a few cards online within my price range. Could you please explain to me what it means for a 16 ch DVR card to have only 4 real-time channels? Does this mean I can only view 4 cameras at a time? Will all 16 channels be able to record simultaneously? Also what are output channels for? I would assume that only input channels would...
