How do I connect my DTV converter box to my DVD/VCR Combo to record shows?

I own an Insignia DTV converter box and a Panasonic DVD/VCR combo with a digital tuner. My antenna is connected to the converter box, which is connected to the dvd player through both AV cables and an RF cable. The TV is connected to the dvd player through both AV cables and an RF cable as well. The problem is I can’t seem to record one show while watching another, because I can’t specify...

Is it possible to connect Basic Cable on a DTV converter box and make it viewable?

1) I have [Comcast] basic cable (the one you don’t need a cable box for, and have 60+ channels on it). But I want to connect my cable coaxial line into my DTV converter Box. “I know I don’t need that box seeing that I already have cable” [and its digital], BUT for other reasons I need to connect my cable to that box. Anyone know if I decide to get one of these dtv converter...

Converter Box dilemma?

Well i bought a converter box since some of my favorite channels were going digital on feb 17 even though the date change to june 12. so i bought an “Apex” Digital Converter Box. It kinda surprised me when i started using it, since the screen looked crappy (i mean the interface of the menus of the digital thing) the image of the tv does look digital and everything. But the color looks less...

have cable, directly to my tv (no converter), my Tvs are older, are they going to work with the 2009 change?

I subscribe to basic cable, and there is a line coming from the wall directly into my tv’s. Both of my tv’s are around 10 years old (so I doubt they are digital – cheap walmart brand Symposonic (sp?)). So I went to a site (dtvtransition.org – they had commercial on TV) and they had a little test to see if your ok for the transition…1-do you have a Tv? (well duh! why else...

What is CATV converter?

My elderly dad received a black device from Comcast yesterday. His house receives analog cable (A cable goes in the house and plugs directly to the tv set). He gets regular cable programming like CNN, ESPN, etc. I checked the black box and it says it is a CATV converter. Does he have to pay monthly fees to use that device? Also I’m hearing about the digital transition coming in 2009. All TV without...

I want to buy a portable tv for the holidays and it says that the unit will need a converter box to be operated. The digital television transition only applies to stations that use the public airwaves to transmit their programming signals. what does this mean? i live in NY and the signal strength is strong. if anyone knows about this and knowledgeable, if someone could help me out with this and explain...

Will any old satellite box work as a digital converter box?

I understand that this may be a stupid question, but I wanted to be sure. I have an Echostar 4700 Satellite Tuner I bought at a thrift store for $5. It has a coaxial cable/antannae input and a tv output. Can I just hook everything up and be done, or is there more to it than that? I’m doing this in preparation for the digital transition (I currently have basic cable). Thanks.
