Digital Tuner and Cable HELP?
I have a Magnavox DVD recorder with a digital tuner, which I use to record TV shows, etc. Here’s my problem: ever since the DTV transition, my cable picture has gotten worse when it’s connected to my recorder. When I put the cable into my LCD HDTV’s tuner, the picture is far more clear and colorful. Does anyone have any idea why I can’t get clear picture on my recorder’s...

Please explain why I need this digital box from my cable company?
Our cable company gave us 3 free digital boxes but never explained why we need them. I think I’ve finally started to understand but I just want someone else to confirm it! First, I want to say that I understand that this has nothing to do with the OTA transition so please don’t tell my I will be unaffected by that! I know. I’m affected by something else….My cable company...

Comcast Cable: Do I get digital channels?
I don’t watch TV, but recently I have decided to order Comcast’s Starter Package. I’m still confused with the whole TV transition switch even though it’s been awhile. So what I’m wondering is, if I get Comcast cable, will I still get the channels that go like this, ##.#? Or will I just get the channels that don’t have the extra .# at the end? I believe they will...

How will I get my cable channels on DTV after the digital transition?
I’m a little confused…I have basic analog cable (cable plugs right into the TV, no cable box) but my tv is an HDTV and DTV ready. I already pick up some local HD channels on DTV and my TV found MANY DTV channels during auto search, but most are blank – nothing there. They are odd channels too, like 12-11. So after all the analog broadcasts are turned off, how will I get my channels?...

What do I need to make my cable work with the digital transition?
I use standard cable with no bells or whistles. With the digital transition, I have already lost several channels and my cable company says I will lose more if I don’t either upgrade or start using their cable boxes that they want to charge me an arm and a leg for. I have one LCD 1080p TV that gets the new channels. The rest of my tvs are regular tube tvs. Is there some kind of receiver I...

Will TVs connected directly to cable without a cable box still work after the digital transition? Confused…?
I have expanded basic cable from Comcast (channels 2-75) and it’s connected directly to my TV. I do not have a cable box. My TV is an HDTV and does have a QAM tuner. I am able to pick up some DTV channels (just my locals). So I’m confused; after the transition, will my current set up not work? Will I have to scan the available DTV channels, or will it be the same for me? Will the cable...

Missing cable channels due to transition?
I have comcast cable, I dont have a cable box I just have the cable running to the tv. Some channels have made the transition to digital already, for example, I dont get Cartoon Network or AMC anymore, I assumed since I already have cable and don’t use an antenna, I would be fine, does anyone know what the problem may be?

HDTV transition. I am currently subscribed to comcast standard cable, which shows approximately 60 channels. I
have a new digital panasonic tv and so now I can get local channels in digital mode but the rest are ie cnn,fx, mtv etc are still analog. My question is, in 2009, next year when all tv’s go digital, will the other channels in comcast standard cable change to digital or will I have to change my subscription to be able to see them?
