Is it possible to connect Basic Cable on a DTV converter box and make it viewable?
1) I have [Comcast] basic cable (the one you don’t need a cable box for, and have 60+ channels on it). But I want to connect my cable coaxial line into my DTV converter Box. “I know I don’t need that box seeing that I already have cable” [and its digital], BUT for other reasons I need to connect my cable to that box. Anyone know if I decide to get one of these dtv converter...

Should I signup for Digital Cable?
I live in SoCal and have Time Warner Cable. I created an account recently for “MyServices” online the other day which allowed me to view exactly that. And as I was reviewing it I noticed that right now we are paying for Standard Cable but it gives me the option so switch to Digital Cable and by doing so after calculating it I would actually save 20 bucks a month. But my question is why...

Why does my dad subscribe to cable and then complain about the bill?
My mom and I never watch cable. My mom doesn’t watch TV and I use over-the-air TV for my room. I’m perfectly happy with it because ever since the digital transition occurred, there are plenty of channels to watch over the air now. So, my dad is the only one in our family that uses cable and he has the cable box in his bedroom. Since the cable box is in HIS bedroom and my mom never watches TV, then...

Cable Ingress…and the DTV transition?
Ok, I’m wondering what’ll happen to this after the DTV transition… We live so close to the TV station transmitters that we can get a watchable analog picture without any antenna or cable hooked up…we have Cox Cable and there’s ingress which causes a ghost image – annoying but not unwatchable. So what will happen to the ghost image after the DTV transition? Will...

have cable, directly to my tv (no converter), my Tvs are older, are they going to work with the 2009 change?
I subscribe to basic cable, and there is a line coming from the wall directly into my tv’s. Both of my tv’s are around 10 years old (so I doubt they are digital – cheap walmart brand Symposonic (sp?)). So I went to a site (dtvtransition.org – they had commercial on TV) and they had a little test to see if your ok for the transition…1-do you have a Tv? (well duh! why else...

Can someone tell me why digital cable is better than what comcast had before?
I have had NOTHING BUT trouble with my digital cable transition and its been a year since they made us transfer everything over to digital. My little boxes are either broken, or they arent recieving signals so i always have to call COMCAST and have their dumb operator send signals to reactivate one of my 3 tvs. Ive never had more trouble with this not to mention it takes longer to change the channel...

Attention Cable T.V. Customers…?
There are a lot of changes taking place within the communications industry. TV providers are preparing for the digital transition, and there are a lot of confused consumers. Within the past 3 mos, companies like Comcast, Time Warner, RCN etc have had extreme rate increases. Are there customers out there who feel that the increases are not just? Is there anyone out there concerned with “new customer...

No ABC channel on my basic cable?
I found a cable in my apartment and connected it to my TV and only get basic standard channels, before the Digital Transition I had ABC, CBS, NBC, CW, Food Network, TV GUIDE Channel, PBS, and some other local channels. Now after the Digital Transition I somehow don’t have ABC. Does anyone know why? I have many channels that are just blurry (snow).

cable and satellite tv questions?
I know that after the United States switches to all digital, cable and satellite subscribers will still have local channels wheither they have high def or not. If I plug a cable tv coax cable into a digital converter box, would it pick anything up? I’m asking about one of those boxes that you can help pay for with a coupon, not a digital cable set top box. Do Directv and Dish truly have both...
