Squatters (no, this isn’t a scat video)

September 1, 2010 by: nickadmin

Things that make me angry: Youtube’s new widescreen mode, I give up. I’m supposed to be clever. Sure it’s widescreen, but what did you do to my quality? I blame adobe premiere. I need a new video editing software. ___________________________ Makes me wonder why I bother paying taxes/my rent/doing anything legally. The poor are the richest people in this country.

  3. svengalie says:

@grimslider75 the majority of this country don’t do what these people did.

    Lookup the definition.

  4. grimslider75 says:

    Normality doesn’t exist

  5. svengalie says:

@RABicle I don’t feel I need to justify myself to anyone, but since you asked.

I went from being in lots of debt to paying cash for my 6 bedroom mansion. I have the nicest house out of anyone I know.

But this the difference we’re talking about. I worked hard to go from zero to hero. I didn’t feel I needed to steal.

AND the people that squatted this house weren’t on the street. One guy admitted he had a 40k a year job. I AGREE it’s disgusting about the homeless, but *this* isn’t the answer.

  6. RABicle says:

@svengalie You never said it but your voice was dripping with jealousy. “Oh these stupid laws, my house isn’t worth that much”

They’re better off squatting than living homeless on the streets, it’s outrageous that there are so many unoccupied homes with the amount of homeless people. The owners are just doing us all a public service.

  7. svengalie says:

@RABicle Where did I say I was envious of them?

Who are they harming? The people they are stealing from!

  8. RABicle says:

Why are you envious of the poor? Good luck to them! Who are they harming?

  16. whyallthequestions says:

You’re brainwashed by a society that has convinced you that you owe them something.

  17. whyallthequestions says:

“It used to be owned by royalty” – and you have the audacity to call us freeloaders?! Endless hours of laughs for me and my mates at the self-important idiot who decides to do this with his life, making moronic videos.

Enjoy paying your rent “like normal people”, I had a great job at the time and I’ll see you in hell.

The place wasn’t even owned by an individual, it was owned by a bank and they left the front window unlocked.. Jealous are you? Go and squat an empty building if you fancy..

  18. whyallthequestions says:

Oh, Sven- we remember you when you were outside checking your Argus and shaking your head and we laughed at you then as we do now.

Trespass is not a criminal offence FYI

I’ve already taken the audio off this video to sample in a techno track, I wish you said “Scum of the earth” where you were too pussy and resort to calling us ‘gypsies’ and having your other words flash up on the bottom of the screen.. It could of been ‘the drop’. You could have been famous, Sven, you evidently wish you were.

  19. GandhiShazny says:

there are actually very strict categories you must fall in to get council housing nd a huge amount of people do not fall into these categories…i know a lot of squatters and they have been in their buildings for years and years because they treat the building well and the owner can see that it is a good thing that the house is being lived in rather than rotting from damp and mould

  20. 1996siveradoman says:

whats bs they can just be aloud to get away with it. And that the owner has to prove he has a right to live in it…what crap…

  21. tinghaling says:

    Victor Meldrew rant

  22. sisgroup says:

Dont worry about issues out of your control dude.

  23. svengalie says:

No, but in a society where we all must live among each other there are certain unwritten rules. Theft has been a nono for centuries for a good reason.

If everyone went around taking whatever they desired the world would sink into anarchy.

I have had minor experience with the local homeless situation. 90% of people are homeless for a reason, them squatting wont solve these reasons. It’s not a solution.

  24. MrCrabpants says:

i guess this gets to me that bit more because i’ve had experience in this…

i’ve squatted and lived on travelers sites for a large portion of my life because in practice these ‘channels’ do not offer much efficient aid at all

within are scene it is a popular belief that property itself is in fact theft anyway

no one has any real right over anything in nature, it’s just an illusion created by society

i can’t hepl but stand amused when i see people reactions when this ‘right’ is questioned

  25. svengalie says:

And here in lies the problem – “ASSUME”.

My argument stands, if they’re that bad off there are proper channels to go through. They don’t need to steal – that’s what it is. By definition, depriving someone else of their property = theft.
