What are the Most Popular Video Games of All Time?

I want to know the top 10 or so most popular video games ever either based on sales earned or copies sold. I would also like to know where the information was found so that I may update my statistics at a later date. Thanks for your time and I hope someone can find it.
The Sims franchise is, I believe, number one.
Myst is fairly high up, as is the Madden franchise.

i love tomb raider. its famous and i think its in the top 5.
The GTA series is up there, along with the Tony Hawk series, Madden games, and Sonic the Hedgehog

I’d say the Final Fantasy series as my first answer.
However, Chrono Trigger was also voted as the best game by a LOT of people, and I can’t say I disagree. It kicks a**, big time.
Idon’t like Madden but Madden Nfl was the best seller for 2005 but as BEST games I’d say the GTA series
