Digital Painting Tutorial : Hanagumori – Part8
February 28, 2010 by: nickadmin
Tutorial here : dianae.deviantart.com Hello people! This is the 8th part of the video screen capture I’ve done while painting “Hanagumori” : dianae.deviantart.com There are 8 parts total. Part 1 fr.youtube.com Part 2 fr.youtube.com Part 3 fr.youtube.com Part 4 fr.youtube.com Part 5 fr.youtube.com Part 6 fr.youtube.com Part 7 fr.youtube.com This painting has been done in order to write a digital painting tutorial explaining the techniques I’m using to paint. This is just meant to be informative. Tools used : Photoshop CS3 (but older versions can be used too, of course) and a wacom intuos 3A4 graphics tablet. Total painting time : approximately 12 hours, but I’ve changed the speed of the video (1500%). I’ve not put music so you can listen to your favourite music while watching it. I might write and record a specific soundtrack later if you feel that it really needs music, but this is just an informative video, not something artsy at all. I hope that it can be useful, if you have any question, you can leave them in the comments, I’ll try to reply the best I can. Sorry for my bad english… I hope you’ll understand though

My God!! What a beautiful illustration… You’re insanelly talented… Btw, thanks for the tutorial!!
I’ma so glad I watch all 8 parts of this ^-^

You’ve officially cracked my self-estreem and sorry, but i have to go find and kill you now.
It is very interesting… I can be is not correctly, but how many In dollars for such work it is possible to take? Sorry for my bad inglish…Somebody knows?
pretty
Video is too fast
Insane…
I will agree with qwsTaion on the Kimono… I would’ve like to have seen a more traditional cut… I’m not a huge fan of the puffy princess sleeve… it looks a little out of character… its still extremely amazing work… great great stuff… =)
To be completely honest i must say, im very impressed but i find it a bit wrong around the kimono, in means of topographic accurancy ofcoarce. How ever great dedication and attention towards detail, a trully admirable work.
5 stars and it goes to FAVORITS!
Keep up your determination and soon you will become a truly powerfull illustrational force to be reking with!
(pls excuse the spelling i’m well bellow the use of proper and grammer writhing
ur my new inspiration!
honestly i don’t know what to say, you are just so relentless in your detail, you are too good. thank you for sharing your passion with everyone, you are brilliant !
OMG… I’m speechless…..
it looks like this was done all in one layer from the video which blows my mind… how much/long have you been painting in photoshop?
what do u do to blend the colors? i use smudge but that dont work very well..
wth was that wat 6:12 lol?
Hehe, I love how you painted the fish there. Great movies, found the tutorial trough DA.
Thank you so much for this; so many things I have to try now. I don’t know why I never thought of using the liquify tool before! Such a great idea!
How many hours did this take you?
This is just meant to show the whole progress (how the shape of the face has changed, colours, lighting, etc), it’s not the tutorial part, so I guess making it slower would have been quite boring.
Thanks !
