Why are Video Games legal? plz read all before answering or at least til the additional details?
February 12, 2010 by: nickadminive asked this question with a different title and received 0 answers that actually answered my question so ive rephrased it. the additional details are my rebuttals to peoples biased uneducated answers
Consider this:
Effects: (trying to be unbiased here) long term effects only
,,,,,,,………………………….… Weed…….. Games
Detrimental school performance:…….. X………….. X
memory performance:………………….. X…………… X
less positive parental relations:………. X…………… X
emotional disorder symptoms:……………………… X
behavioral disorder symptoms:……………………… X
Somatic complaints:………………………..… X
ADD or ADHD:……………………………..… X
reduced REM sleep:…………………………….… X
visual selective attention:…………………………… X
physically aggressive behavior:……………………… X
health is debatable (studies have shown that there are no long term effects of marijuana on health)
( I tried to make the X’s line up but in the preview they dont so idk what to do but its simple enough to see what im saying.)
Video games spread violence while Marijuana spreads peace
Video games make people secluded while Marijuana encourages people to be social
Money: prices are for me only.
Weed:…………..$20 a week………….pipe & grinder $50
Video Games:…$60 every 3 months console……….$300…..T.V. $2000
so money being wasted isnt too bad for weed $1130 for 1 year.
while for games it is ridiculously high………….$ 2480 for 1 year. also T.V’s and consoles can break and must be replaced while pipes and bongs wont break unless your being careless. and if you get acrylics they’ll never break
So i suppose my question is: Why the **** are video games legal while marijuana isn’t?
Source for effects of video games: http://addictionblog.org/top-10/top-10-n…
i found some sources saying there are some long term effects of marijuana effecting memory while others say that the only long term effect is a 3% drop in lung capacity.

becuz the goverment rather have a children (& a lot of adults) pay attention to video games rather than what’s going on. while marijuana on the other hand will more then likely pay more attention to what’s going on.
I’m with you on that one. Weed is a safe alternative to video games. Really the only bad thing about weed is that you’re smoking it and that when you’re high sometimes there could be a tendancy to do something stupid. Other than that…
Video games, on the other hand, promote violence and laziness. People actually sit in front of the TV or computer for HOURSSSS on end killing people and monsters repeatedly… ‘nough said…
This was very confusing. I’m assuming an X indicates a negative effect but some of the X’s are in the middle. Anyway, This isn’t really all that true and was very biased in favor of weed. My ex whome I lived with for over a year abused BOTH weed and video games. I believe all things in moderation are exceptable as long as it is safe. Weed does not encourage you to “socialize” You hang out with the same group of stoners day in day out spending every red cent you can get your paws on weed and munchies. You don’t think logically while you are stoned and spend money on useless crap if you are in an environment to do so such as the mall or movie theater. Video games are expensive but more eccomonical if you don’t mix it with weed. You and your friends can play games together and only spend a chunk of money every few months either on and expansion for your favorite game or on a new game you would like to try. Most stoners I know… correction, ALL stoners I know do nothing besides smoke weed AND play video games. Video games can help improve memory and dexterity. They can teach a 7 year old to drive better than the average 16 year old. For children there are games made for educational purposes. For adults, more and more virtual games are coming out that can give you a physical workout. The thing is, if video games were made illigal, most computer usage and internet would drop or become non exsistant. Think of how bad it would be for the ecconomy? Facebook and myspace include video game applications, there are so many educational video games as well for young children to benefit from. It is up to the parents on how they enforce rules and censorship in there home.
FAIL!!!!!
