I just got a desktop and im planning to change the video card to something better.. Will all the video cards be compatible with my hp desktop and vice versa?

no….not knowing what you have for a pc I can tell you that certain cards will only work in systems with certain processor speeds and certain amounts of ram. Not only that but certain types of pci slots.

Yes pretty much, but there are some restrictions such as power and amount of PCI slots availiable.
Most top-of-the-line cards connect directly to the power supply instead of getting power from the motherboard. If your power supply doesn’t have enough watts to support that as well as everything else, it wont work…
There are top of the like cards that are dual graphics cards, meaning there are 2. You will need 2 free PCI slots, and enough room in the case…

Depends in you have PCI slots in your desktop, if you do then it is compatible with any video card.
